Will 315/70/17's fit on and OBS F250, with just a Dana 60 swap?

(Also using OBS front leaf springs)

Or will some sort of lift, or SD springs be needed?

im going to say no they wont. i dont think they will fit on the F350's stock, or theyre really tight so i would imagine the same with a 250. if i had a dana 60 i would be doing the RSK.

The d60 with no other mod's is only going to give you about .25" of lift. The tires you list figure to be 34.4 X 12.4 so check out what others have done to fit a 35" tire.

Good luck, Dave

I have seen a tire fitment chart somewhere, might have been 4 wheeler, or the 4WPW magazine or maybe one of the lift kit mfg????
It gives the minimum lift or trim required for ech tire size.

That being said I think for 35" on a stock F350 (which is what you will have) you have to shim or trim the front bumper. The bottom edge of the bumper where it comes into the wheel well is INMO the only styling flaw on the OBS trucks.....

had 35s on my 250 stock with 16x10 wheels. just shimmed the front bumper and it never rub anything 35 12.5 16 remington mud brutes. now i got 33 procomp all terrian but i have run a set of 36 12.5 radial tsls on stock rims with out a lift just move the bumper forward or trim the end of it.

I'd have to say any 70 profile tire is just wrong. I don't get it. Why would someone want larger wheels with low profile tires? I saw a new F350 a few days ago with those goofy 265/60-20 or whatever damn crap they option on new trucks. That right there would stop me from buying. Ugliest dang wheel/tire combo ever in the history of mankind on a truck. Best wheel tire combo is stock steel wheels, no hubcaps and 235/85-16 tires. Anything else is a downgrade in looks. I got the Alcoa's but I'd rather have the steel wheels I had on my 1989 F250.

One reason is a shorter sidewall will give a much better steering responce, we are not talking about 1" sidewalls they will still be huge /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif And there are tons of guys who will trade ya for your rims /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Ron I will disagree with you once again! The first thing I would do with a truck with 235/85's would be to throw those pizza cutter mini spare tires in the trash. The point of this thread is fitment of a larger tire not stock tire size. The only time I ever see you post here is to say what you just said. Add to the discussion or be quiet!
And your comments don't add to the discussion. There are plenty of good places for 70 and 65 series tires on our trucks. maybe not on yours but other like them. thats why you are free to do to your truck as you please and I am free to do as I wish to my truck as I please.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion I guess. 305/70/16 definitly DOES NOT have a short sidewall, in fact it is very close the same OD as 235/85.

35's fit a stock F350 (not sure on bumper clearance). The wheel backspacing will decide if you clear the spring or not - lift won't change that.

That's what I was lookin' for! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Thanks.

Can't remember the factory backspacing, but these new wheels are to be the same as my stock ones. Just upgrading to 17's and basically 35's.

I knew bumper interference might be an issue, but that is not a big deal. Just as long as it won't hit the fender, I'll be happy!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just take the fenders and bumpers off and throw them away and run goofy wheels and tires. It will be worth it.
