I have almost 7K on my 2013 platinum and it gets the same as my 2011f350 did. Only thing that is not good is towing. i got a smaller trailer now, went from a 26' to a 16'. The new 16' even has a v-nose but I swear it sits higher than my old trailer. i get worse mileage towing the 16 than when towing with the 26. Both trailer have the same equipment in it too.

I have noticed anything over 65mph and the truck just drinks fuel. If I set cruise on 68mph I get 14mpg as opposed to 10mpg at 75mph when towing. I did 80+ miles at 65mph just to make sure I could still get good mpg when empty. I did get 20mpg but seemed to take forever to get home lol. Cant wait until they swap over from this winter fuel.

I tried the b20 once on my 2011 and it was even worse #'s

My 6.7L gets 2-3 miles per gallon better than my two 6.0L truck got empty on the hiway, I've gotten as high as 22 mpg on 300-600 mile drives at 65 mph.

Empty around town, 14 mpg in the 6.7L vs the 13 in my old 6.0L

Towing is about the same as my old 6.0L

I've made 7 or 8 trips that were 900 to 1000 miles mostly interstate, cruise set at 80 mph and get 18.0 to 18.5 mpg.

So yes this truck does better than my 2000 7.3L, 2003 6.0L or my 2006 6.0L. Even with the regens.

Horrible powerstroke 6.7 mpg

I don't know how much people exaggerate about their mpg but it seems that everyone gets better mpg than I do. I have 2011 kr f250 crew cab with 3.55 gears, afe cold air intake, egr delete, dpf delete, 4 inch exhaust, h&s black max,6 inch lift with 24 inch fuel wheels and 37 toyo open country mts. I get 11.5 mpg and would really appreciate someone's honest imput on improving this if its at all possible.maybe my programmer is set wrong or something but I figure if someone can help he probably reads these forums. Thank you

Dude, you're never going to get great mileage with a 6" lift and 37" tires.

I don't think that is bad mileage for a 6" lift and 37" tires.

If you want to improve, go back to stock height and stock 34" tires and you will be back at 14-15 mpg around town.

I have 2012 f350 4x4 with 3.55 and factory tires with a constant 500lbs in the bed and I get a whopping 14.5-15.5 mpg. That's a real hand calc'd number, not the read out which always reads 1 mpg better. I guess if I was only driving highway at 60 mph I might get better but that's never going to happen. I should have stuck with my 05 Dodge 5.9 Cummins, THAT was the best truck I've ever owned. I bought this Ford because of all the allegedly great mpg's guys were posting. Guess most of them use the read out and don't hand calc?

I just did a 3k mile trip with a very light load and got 18.8 average mpg. Mostly highway and anywhere from 55-80 mph with some wind at times. I consider this pretty good.

I've made numerous 700 - 900 mile long trips, Where I set the cruise at 80 mph and just crossed states. I've done this in several trucks with the 3:31 and 3:55 rear ends and I pretty consistently turn 18-18.5 mpg depending on the direction of travel( uphill/downhill) and any head winds.

I did one 300 mile trip where I stayed a pretty constant 65 mph and got 23 mpg. But that is really rare. Pretty hard to find routes that force you to drive that slow for that far.

Last weekend hooked up the horse trailer and hauled to Southern Utah and back. 12.0 mpg towing. You can see my trucks life time avg is around 14 mpg for 84,000 miles

I have compared my fuel mpg monitor to what I am putting in at the pump a few times and it is pretty much bang on. At 65 mph I average about 23 mpg and hauling a heavy trailer get about 12-13 mpg , now that is hardly dissapointing for a one tonne diesel these days ! I have ran side by side with Duramaxes and Cummings and always end up putting in less at the pumps per stop.
Keep in mind I run my truck stock without chips and oversized wheels , think folks that run their trucks non stock and whine and complain about their mileage should do it on a "modified truck" post. Certain mods will effect mileage and create other issues with any manufacturer of diesel truck and to be honest I really don't care what issues they have by doing mods.
No complaints with my F350 2012 6.7 at all to date...great non modified truck!

Okay. I've got a new 2013 F350 4X4 Platinum (Yay me!). I've put fuel in it 3 times to get me to 809 miles. Here's the non-towing, mostly around town but some highway mileage numbers so far:
first 285 miles = 19.29 gallons or 12.25 mpg
235 miles = 20.83 gallons or 11.29 mpg
289 miles = 24.89 gallons or 11.61 mpg
216 miles = 20.85 gallons or 10.34 mpg .... odo = 1,024

Now, I'll probably fill up one more time before a long trip towing 15,000 lbs down and 5,000 back. I'd love to see mileage better than the dreaded 9 mpg or less that I am now kind of expecting. I can never manage to get the mileage that guys on this site get. With this truck, I can even keep the mileage display set to instant and though I try to drive nicely, it still won't get above 12 mpg... how bad will it get towing 15,000# at 70 mph? Any ideas? (It's stock)

I have got as much as 12.5 towing a 36' gooseneck at ~10,000 lb. on a trip that is mostly flat. It will get about 11 with the same trailer on a trip with several hills. My daily driving is mostly short trips and I get about what you're getting. I will get right around 20 empty driving easy on the interstate.

Keep your foot out of it and u will see 5 more mpg. Ya gotta drive easy.

Sadly 70mph gets a huge drop in mileage even though around here that 5 mph under the limit.

Unloaded at 62-63 mph I can get 19-20 over 500 miles. At 70-73 it drops to around 14-15.

Slow wins the race unfortunately.

Ty Pope - How was your mileage in the 6.4 and 6.0's you had? Are you driving the new one the same?

Seeing as I have a 2011 this may not be the issue any more, but a few of us had poor mileage and slower acceleration issues until we changed out the factory fuel filters. I still put motorcraft filters in.

The miles per gallon killer in the 6.7 is the regen frequency. Lugging down the engine, low rpms and high gear doesn't help. Around town I lock out 5th and 6th, in 4th gear at30 - 35 mph put the rpms in the sweet spot of 1500.

I got 10.46 mpg over 26,400 miles with my 2007 6.0. I'm hoping to get better mileage out of this truck.

What rear end you have? The 18-20 mpg are all SRW with 3.55 or less with moderate driving.

I drive unloaded up and down the mountain from an elevation of 5400 to 8700 while averaging 65 - 70mph and can get 18mpg all day long. But I have the '11 F350 CC SRW, 3.55 with ~ 30k miles on the clock.
