Convince me, what do I need 4 or 6 pos chip?
6 is only a few $ more, but why do I need them?
What I think I need
1-DD econ for around town and no load cruising
2-towing 7-9K
3-Fun mode
4-crazy fun race mode /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

What else would you suggest if I was to go with 6??

THANKS

Mark, one thing that I have enjoyed with the 6 way chip is having different shifting logic for basicly the same burns from two different programmers. The Bill's tow and extreme burns have stock shift patterns and these two burns are lower in performance than Tony Wildman's, raised shift points, tow and extreme burns. This gives me flexiblity to choose power when I want it and shift patterns to different driving situations. I also like the high idle for the colder days. Here's the way Bean and I set mine up:

left to right, 1. Tony's economy 2. High idle (1100 rpm) 3. Bill's tow 4. Bill's extreme 5.Tony's tow 6. Tony's extreme

positioning where burns,(like high idle, no start), are on your switch is important since you have no visible reference, except by the mark on your switch, between position 1 and 6. Hope this info helps in your decision...you can't go wrong with either one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

I have a 6 pos, imo its the only way to go. Yes i use all the settings, except the CARB since it wont spool h2.

Heres what i have on mine: CARB emmisions for stock nozzles (was my dd and light tow), High b (med tow), tony tow, quad program (early extreme i think), Tailgater special /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif (super low shift pts and wont kick down), and then my custom extreme "luke 4" from tony. Once it starts getting cold again i will probably have carb replaced with high idle.

Mark, I do have to drive by the pyro on mountain grades, around here average about 6%) pulling a 45 ft enclosed trailer, 15500 lbs. but, i still hold all the speed I want /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif An IC is my next priority... no wait, get the funds for the ic is my next priority!! On your chip, if your still shopping call Tony, he will build you exactly what you want for your driving style and present/future mods.
