Can anyone point me to a link on how to convert a 4r100 to an e4od?? I have a nearly new one and my E4OD is beginning to give me problems.

Thanks

In a nutshell, you'll need to swap ALL internals from the 4R100 to the E4OD case. The 4R would bolt up, but I believe the electrical connections are slightly different so they are not interchangeable.

Some experts will chime in and let you know how feasible the project will be, but if I had a good 4R100, I would think about swapping parts into the E4OD for sure...

Good luck!

swap solenoid pack, tr sensor and lever, convert pwm lock up in pump to on off, tailhousing if 2wd, cooler fittings or use 3/8 lines. Thats it.

Ditto what Richter69 said....I did it. In fact I didn't even do the pump mod...based on what I heard from somebody that had done a couple of these swaps. You may have to fab a couple of plugs for some sensors that the E4OD doesn't have....unless the donor trans has them installed, then your good.

Which leads to another question for Richter....I'll be swapping engines here soon, so I have a chance to to the pump mods that come with the Transgo Kit....not the Tugger, the HD-2 I think it's called.

What say you Mr. Tranny man?

This doesn't sound too bad, but is there any where I can find photos of what pieces to look for? I have a low mile E40D that had a bent tail shaft from a wreck. I'd like to use the parts from it to mod the 4r100 since I already took it apart. This way when the 4r100 is done, all I have to do is the swap. Mine is a 4x4 tranny, so no need to woory about the tail shaft

thanks

just use the shift lever and solenoid pack from the e4, the pump mod is just a transgo kit. If your going that far I would also reccomend you instal a transgo shift kit as well.
