Bought this truck 4 months ago. Previous owner claimed the transmission was replaced about a year ago at a ford dealer. this is the only id I can find. nothing is in the normal nameplate location.

My thought is it was a fib.. but can anyone say who rebuilt this?

Shouldn't you be able to verify with a Ford dealer by providing the VIN?

Ask them to pull up an OASIS report on the truck using the VIN like Arcticdriver suggested. That will tell you all work that has been done at a Ford dealer.
