I've a 2001 Ford 7.3L Excursion 4x4 with an automatic 4R100 transmission. Vehicle drives fine in all gear selections except for main "D" drive. 2 & 1 gear drives just as it should and can get to highway speeds of +65mph @ 2k rpms. However, while in "D" position it acts as if it's in Neutral. I've been finicking with the position of the column shifter to see if it was an alignment problem with the linkage and that hasn't been the case. There are no codes showing. The vehicle as been in a front end collision with no airbag deployment and I recently had to readjust & bend the steering wheel column mounting bracket back to its proper form. The steering wheel has had to be replaced due to the wheel being bent from body impact. Any suggestions as to what is not allowing the main drive not kick in when selected?

It's in overdrive, judging by the RPM and vehicle speed. So that means the shift cable is out of adjustment, or the indicator is out of adjustment.
