The hinky plastic drainback valve is know to become brittle, break and even melt. Debris can also build up around it.
If this valve fails, it will obstruct/interfere with the lube circuit. This will have a negative effect on bushings and is know to cause total overdrive planetary failure.
Not Good Not Good At All.
It is located here on the stator support.

Clean out the bore with solvent and blow out with compressed air after you have put on your safety glasses, mask and you have put gloves on. You don’t want solvent in your eyes and don’t want to breathe aerosolized solvent and you don’t want solvent going through your skin, into your blood to visit all of your organs.
Don’t work like a hillbilly ******* even if you happen to be one.
Picture here is the Sonnax drainback valve. It’s body is all aluminum. Insert it as the old one came out. Find a punch of the appropriate size that will fit into the cup nicely. Don’t go to small in size. You do not want to deform the bottom of that cup which could change the orfice size.
Tap it in to just below flush and stake the top inner wall of cup with a pointed center punch.
