Just looking for confirmation-suddenly lost all forward gears in my 2000 X with about 200K on the original trans...

It's my understanding that nothing electrical will cause loss of movement forward-can anyone confirm this? Pulled out this morning and she moved forward and then slowly lost momentum and then wouldn't budge! Reverse is fine-fluid bright red-assuming forward clutch/thrust washer...

One more thing-no check engine light and no flashing OD light...

There is nothing electrical that can cause no forward movement. It has to be a mechanical failure.

Thanks Mark-Does it make sense that I'm not getting any toruble indications(lights)? I'm away(of course) so no computer til I go get my truck and trailer for a rescue...is there anything that can happen with the linkage/shifter that would permit R but no Drive? (really grasping here-I know!)

It is not unusual to not get any codes or trouble lights. It is possible that something happened to the shift linkage that is causing your problem. Not real likely, but possible.

That helps me alot!

I will examine the linkage tomorrow just to be sure I don't have some flakey scenario by which I'm not getting past reverse-I honestly have to admit that it's been a long time coming that this trans is ready to get done (it's my first to make it past 80K!) Just trying to make the best decisions regarding how my weeks gonna play out and how I'm leaving my X tomorrow. Thanks again.
