My '01 F250 PSD has now developed a rattle/growl from the transmission/bellhousing area. It is a deep sounding "vibration". I wonder if my flexplate is loose or if the torque converter is going south. It doesn't make the noise under load. The noise only occurs sometimes while idling. I am worried this could get worse. Anyone have this problem/issue? Also, the fluid and filter have been changed and levels checked to eliminate this possibility.

It probably will get worse. Kinda like marbles rattling around in a tin can. Eventually you'll need to replace the torque converter at minimum.
