03 7.3 auto trans. 190k miles on the original fluid.
I towed 14k lbs 100 miles sat with od off running 55-60 flat ground except one 1 mile pull up a small mountain and then back down that mountain.
Never once seemed like there was a problem. came home parked it unhooked trailer and sun morning when I drove to the shop it simply would not shift into third gear. I have run it up to 3500-3800 rpm trying to make it shift but it wont.
I have read the rev and third clutches are the same so rev is still strong and fuctional. I have also read the 2-3 shift valve in the valve body may be stuck shut???
Any thoughts before I make my mind up which direction I'm going?
