Transmission has a intermittent leak at the vent on top, anybody have this issue before?? the trans temp never gets above 175 cruising on the highway at 65 on level ground its always around 159-166

It can do this if the trans is overfilled, or if there is a major internal leak that is squirting fluid at the vent.

I have an 03 4x4drw with the same problem, shifts nomal, temps are between 145-167 trans fuild is red with no metal in the pan , truck has 75,145 miles on it Very STUMPED !!!!

The only way fluid is going to come out of the vent is if the transmission is overfilled. Check the level with the trans warmed up, in park, and the engine idling.
