I’m new to this forum stuff, but I have a 04 6.0 powerstroke. The truck has a hard start after it sits for about 5 hours or more the truck fires off almost right away when starting to crank it, but as soon as it fires once it dies and I have to sycle the key and crank again the truck will do that maybe 4 times and then fire strait up and runs perfect after a few attempts. The truck has a new ficm stand pipes glow plugs and more little things no engine light or code thrown. Really stumped on this one cause the truck otherwise runs perfect and after the one hard start will start first crank for the first 4 5 hours of shutting it off after that back to the hard start any input or things i could check would be appreciated.....

How do you know there is no code thrown? What are you using to pull codes?

I highly recommend a phone app scan tool called ForScan. The Lite version is for the phone and is only $5. You will need an OBDII adapter, but the BAFX brand will work well and is only $40 or so. BlueTooth for Android and WiFi for iOS.

Lastly - is your 04 an early one with the 03 engine (ie ICP sensor behind the Turbo)?
