There were some problems w/ the earlier enginges, I won't deny that.But there are also been problems w/ the later ones as well.Just as problems w/ some Dmax's and Cummins.I own an 03 w/ no problems so far(knock on wood) and known some guys w/ the same luck.I also know some w/ newer trucks that have had and not had problems.If you're looking at a used truck gat an OASIS report and find out as much background on the vehicle as you can,such as problems if any, and maintenance, which is the key to these trucks.

in my opinion, besides the first handfull that were made, they were the best ones, they always seem to run the best and have the least amount of problems, everything they changed in the newer engines, breaks.
