This is a follow-on to the 6.0 Shoot Out. The following are a list of cities that we might consider. I chose 3 from the west coast, 3 from the middle of the country and 3 from the east coast. Please check any of the boxes that you would be willing to travel to (could be all 9). I will then allow the poll to tell us the favorite location.

You can view the results only after you vote. Please vote only once, and please only vote if you truly would go. Also, you do not need to bring your truck (but I am sure all who attend will appreciate anyone who does). We'll be using local vehicles for the testing (unless an out of towner commits and drives his/her rig in).

I have the poll set to close on the Friday after the 4th of July. That should give everyone a chance to vote.

Thanks, RL

I voted for St. Louis since I wouldn't have to travel /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif. (Not gonna volunteer my truck as a guinea pig, but I would sure attend to see what the results are) If you end up here, send me a PM, SLAPS will make arrangements to get you a dyno. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Thanks man. We won't really know where this will end up for a few more days, but the west coast started strong. Let's see how this goes....I'm definitely looking forward to it though.

Nice work on the poll. I imagine we could use my truck, but it's not a 6 speed. All I have done is exhuast. I'm in cincy OH, so St. L, Indy, phily maybe because I have family. But I bet roper might have something with slaps gettin a good load dyno for a diesel.

As of this morning, 42 different people voted, and St. Louis leads by 1 over Vegas and San Diego. I am sure many people are out and about this weekend, so we really won't get a clear picture until late this week. I will occassionally post to keep the poll near the top of the board so it stays front and center.

What about the New Orleans airport, then we can go to the French Quarter. There are some major dynos in this area as well, would the same ones that dyno our offshore motors that go into these go-fast boats work. Jeff

As I got to thinking about this, I think we should do it in Fort Worth. I feel that I have paid my dues on shootouts.

Most of you probably were not even here when the adjustable modules for the 6L came out. There was a discussion on here and I drove over 1800 miles round trip to put my stuff on a dyno. It is someone elses turn to travel.

So here is what I propose:

Unbiased dynojet in Fort Worth or nearby.
I will pay for the dyno time.
I will give the products we test on the trucks to the truck owner for his time.
I will even buy dinner the night of the dyno.

I am a friendly competitor and think this could be fun, but I feel I paid my dues before SCT was evenborn. DFW is easy in and out of and is very central.

Hope my input matters.

I have no problem with Dallas (I ommitted Texas because it is usually VERY hot there in August). DFW is a little pricey to fly to from here (American and Continental lock it up), but I'll come down. But before we jump ship here, should I start a new thread with a few more cities including Dallas? I had 21 cities at first and I thought it was just too much.

I want to do it in a city that gets the most turn out. We need sponsors to bring their wares, and a bunch of us guys/gals to urge them on. So far, I think St. Louis and DFW have dynos committed. Any other cities with dynos committed? maybe we make one last poll with cities that have committed dynos?

Quad, I'll come to Dallas if that's where it is going to be. I just don't want to alienate anyone. Please comment back on how to handle. Another poll? Just go to Dallas? What?

Thanks, RL

Ok, I will add Dallas/Fort Worth, New Orleans, any others?

Also, I will make this a pick your top 3. Each person can vote for up to 3 cities. Any objections to that format? Again, any other cities besides the 9 on the original list and the 2 above?

I'll set it up later tonight. Give me your other cities asap.

RL

ps, or we could just say F-it and meet in Dallas with Quad. If 10 or more people (including the other sponsors) post here on this thread that they would meet in Dallas, we can skip the poll.

Hey Ralph - Consider this:
When your setting up your poll add another plance but name it "no opinion" or something like that. That way those of us who will not be there, basically no matter where it is, can check the city status without voting for a city and screwing up the "serious" voters. Its the guys that will attend that hold the votes that count.

Just a thought,
Scott

Make that 4 Johhny!

Hey If it's in DFW count me in. I have an 03 that can be used, but it is an Auto. If it is in DFW, I may, (and I say may), be able to hook some of the vendors coming, and Ralphinnj, up with a cheap "standby" airline ticket. Lets get it going.

I think it is important to use an auto also, since there is an issue of putting the power to the ground in an auto as well.

Made some calls last night concerning this, if in the Ft. Worth area, mark at least 15 more '04 and '05 trucks down. Or I can have them post for the count. One guy, John, is willing to bring his '03, '04, '05, and if it arrives in time an '06 for the dyno.
If I could add an opinion for the time frame, let everyone do some bigtime promoting and see this become a reality around Sept. or Oct. when the high temps. subside, it would be much more pleasant then than real soon. If a date was real soon for this, no one from outside that area would ever think of returning again due to the temp. and humidity.

There are even a few Ford dealerships from Tx. that might enjoy being part of this and may even participate and be enlightened as to the things 6.0 owners are into. I see everyone benefitting from this.

BTW, I don't see any other major "6.0 performance" companies like Quadzilla lining up. This offer from Quad is outstanding to say the least. I think if it is held in Ft.Worth, with Quad being a major part, we should all help Quad out in any manner we can for his contributions. Also, I really believe that the Deep South has quite a few major participants, especially DFW.
