I started...or maybe I should say, attempted to install my 6.0 trans cooler in my 01 F350 tonight and removed the upper plastic filler, the hood latch and the lower rubber strip (which gave me like 1/16 of an inch?) and then the upper condenser brackets and then the upper bolts on the trans cooler but that was as far as I could get...there was no way I could reach the lower two bolts...I cannot figure out how to get to these at all. I tried going thru the opening next to the fog lights with a short 8mm universal socket and a 10" 1/4" drive extension and there is too great of an angle...do I need to remove the bumper and lower air dam to get to these? From underneath there is a reinforcement bar that runs across that prevents me from getting to them from the bottom side too? Anybody know of a good online install article on this with photos? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I believe you will have to remove the lower air dam as well as the blocker bar beneath the bumper in order to remove the OEM cooler and install the 6.0. At least it is easier that way.

Yup, remove the blocker beam, make sure you re-install it though. I don't have one, because my plow frame is there. Anyways, you can get at the lower bolts without removing the bumper. I did mine without removing.

Unless you have something I don't I was able to get to the them from the front with little problem. Did you remove the grill? Four bolts on top and a few spring clips along the bottom and viola easy access.
