I've posted before about topic. I've become frustrated by the lack of availability of a bolt on system. I've placed many calls and NO one will get back to me. Four calls to Banks have been unanswered /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I would like to put a 4" straight thru exhaust on but I'm not sure which system can be installed with minimum modification. Can ANYONE help here???

Since you're no stranger to PSD vans, you should also be familiar with the lack of bolt-on aftermarket performance parts.

If you want a performance exhaust on your 6.0 van, you're going to have to do some cutting and fitting.

If you'll look at my pictures of my exhaust installation, you'll have some second thoughts about the feasibility of a 4" DP. It might fit, but it will rattle and bang.

I didn't have to cut anything at all?

[/ QUOTE ] I seriously doubt that he's having problems finding a bolt-on exhaust for his 2000 7.3 van. It's the 6.0 van, made from 2004 on up, for which such a critter does not yet exist.

The turbine outlet is different between the 7.3 and the 6.0.

The present options for a 4" exhaust on a 6.0 van are:

1) Get a 7.3 van exhaust system, which should fit nearly perfectly, and remove and replace the turbine connection flange. This will require cutting the flange off the OEM system and the new 7.3 system, and welding the OEM flange to the 7.3 system.

2) Get a 6.0 truck system, and modify it with about 5 cuts and welds to properly route through the van. (this is what I did)

You can find pictures of my exhaust system in the pictures link in my signature.

[/ QUOTE ] So many questions . . . . nothing to go on . . . . Where to begin?

With first things first:

Welcome to the Dieselstop! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

With a little and patience and learning on your part, you'll find this website an invaluable source of information for your Ford vehicle equipped with an engine built by Navistar/International Harvester. Members here are eager to pass along the knowledge and wisdom they acquire at the Powerstroke School of Hard Knocks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

The forums are divided into categories and forums. You have landed into the sole forum dedicated to all things related to Ford Econoline Vans equipped with diesel engines.

At this point, you can help us help you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif by clicking on "my home" in the top yellow bar and updating your signature with some particulars about your vehicle in question. Typically we can know by the year what engine it has, but it doesn't hurt to specify.

Your use of the words "stacks," "cab," and "sleeper," cause me to doubt that you are asking for advice regarding an Econoline. If you'll click on "main index" in the top yellow bar, right next to "my home," you'll see an index of the forums with descriptions. Here are my recommendations for you:

1) visit the "upgrades and aftermarket" forum for whichever engine you have.
2) visit the "upgrades and aftermarket" forum for some of the older engines and body styles, on which you may have noticed a larger population of stacks.
3) visit the "upgrades and aftermarket - general" forum
4) visit the "general diesel" forum.

When you use the search function, try a search for some of your key words in each of these specific forums. To search for posts that contain all three words, you must put into the window "+stacks +cab +sleeper" Omitting the + sign will cause the search to return results based on that word individually.

Good luck.
