Hello everyone I am new to the Diesel side of things I ordered a true blue w grey interior 06 F-250 Reg Cab LB FX4 6.0L diesel w the torque shift. The options are many 3.73 limited slip, swaybar package, upgraded wheels, towcommand package, cablights, captian chairs ..etc all the bells and whistles. I just recieved it 2 weeks ago and I'm loving every minute of it. To my suprise is it deciently quick for a big truck. the Mod bug has already bitten with less than 1,000 miles on the odometer.

Welcome aboard... FYI, Ford will look for any mod/reason to void your warranty. If they black flag your truck and something goes wrong with your engine, you will be on your own to the tune of big$$$.Diesels ain't cheap.

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to TDS.
I bought mine a little over a year ago, and I'm still lovin' it.
I do have to agree what south_paw said. Ford (probably GM & Dodge too) are very sensative when it comes to mods that affect the diesel motors. I'd at least wait until it breaks in before adding anything questionable.
The bean counters at all carmakers are trying to cut warranty costs. I wouldn't give them an excuse.

Yeah, what he said. If anything is going to go wrong it often goes wrong right away and back to the dealer it goes. We usually wait a little while until we know we have a stable vehicle before we mod. Mods, depending what they are, can jeopardize your warranty if you have a problem and Ford thinks the mods are the cause.

I have to echo what everyone else has said on the mods. On my 2000 F-250 XLT the only mods that were Power Programmer, FabTech 6” lift, Turbo Temp monitor, EGT and Boost gauges. I’ve just purchased a new 2005 F-250 Superduty Kings Ranch and I’m impressed with the 6.0. Have to wait awhile to see if I like as much or better than the 7.3. My son is using the 2000 and he is talking about doing the banks exhaust and intercooler to open it up a little. If the 2005 is as good as the 2000 then I will be very happy.

thanks everyone for welcoming me to TDS I'm really excited about learning more about diesel technology. Warrenties, what are those? I'm kidding I know what yall mean I have been pretty fortunate up to this point b/c my friend is the service manager and my dad went to high school and good friends with the owner of the dealership so covering warrenty issues shouldn't be a problem. I'm not one to add a bunch of stuff to my truck b/c it makes the most power and when it breaks ask someone fix fix it for me on their dollar. I carefully choose my mods based on longevity and overall performance.
