Does anyone know if and when Ford is planning on bumping up the torque from 570lbs to above Duramax' 605lbs and Dodge's 615lbs.

Also, What is the RPM increase when using the towBoss' 4.30

I read something interesting about the Dodge 615 ft-lbs of torque. It only occurs when both the AC and electric fan are on. Both of these rob power from the drivetrain so Dodge increases the fuel enough to recover that loss while the available power to the drive train remains the same. Interesting form of specmanship.

I already thought it was interesting that Ford cuts the fuel between some of the shifts but the new Dodge scheme is downright deceitful.

I don't know if I would call it deceitful? You are still getting the advertised power. Kind of like GM detuning in 1st and 5th gear. I don't know if Ford does it but w/ Allison they detune 1st and 5th. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif Really listing power at the flywheel is deceiving. They ought to list power at the ground.

I agree about listing power to the ground. My comment on "deceitful" is with respect to the marketing of 615 ft-lbs over the old 600 ft-lbs. People are allowed to think they are getting more where it counts (to the ground) but they are not.

Muscle cars of the 60s practiced a form of deceit. The government stepped in and HP specs changed dramatically.
