I know it is not the 6.2L, but our 3 2012 F450 V10 bucket trucks are averaging about 7MPG at around 10K miles each.

Just traded my '03 7.3 last month. Bought a '14 f250 CC SB with 3.73. Currently have 1000 miles on the clock; I'm only getting 8.5mpg. My driving is a mix between highway and local streets and with a light foot on the go pedal.

...traded my '03 7.3 Long bed dually last Friday. Bought a '14 f250 CC SB 4x4 with 3.73.

It's so quiet and so much easier to drive. It only had about 10 miles on it. I've gotten it up to 12 mpg so far.

When I got down to about 3/4 of a tank I went and put some E85 in. WOW !!! did the power pick up or what !! But the mpg has steadily dropped since. :worried:

Honestly I did not think I was going to like this truck since is not what I wanted but it is growing on me. :bigthumb:

This frigggin 3.73 and 4.30 has really gotten in my head...so many threads...anyways I went to dealer today and changed my order! Put 20's on her and then changed to 4.30's too. I live in the fingerlakes region of NY which is hilly. Just bought a boat too to tow! So with adding the 20's, the hills, mixed hiway/road driving, I decided to get a ltttle more power and get that 4.30 elocker! Hope I made the right choice...

Anyone own a reg cab, long bed, 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton they could give some fuel economy feedback about? Wondering how much of a difference the weight makes.

Jeez. I mean for crying out loud (while stamping feet).

I want a 3/4 ton grocery getter that I occasionally need to tow something. Want the axles, brakes and suspension and payload but don't need a diesel, v10 or 6.2. Well ... actually its only cuz I want a stone cold reliable 18mpg 3/4 ton. Hmm. Imagine asking for less power and more reliability and fuel economy. Well thats just crazy talk.

Im waiting to get mytruck in for service for over a month. The dealer is really busy and short on loaners. This is starting to give me time go think about the 6.2L. My 6.7L has something wrong that causes it to run noisy, marble-knocking, pinging, rattling any time i drive it. Fuel economy has dumpedto 14-14.5mpg. I really only need the smoker for pulling our 10,000 lb. Travel trailer 12x a year. Even if the 6.2L only nets 13mpg for me, its only$700 additional a year for gas. Thats a far cry fron $8000 for the smoker. Kind of chicken to order one without driving one. And as a daily driver, im not sure what to expect.

Pretty impressive, although the smoke heads will grumble. Most likely the 4.10 rear on that one. Only confirms I'd only take one with the 4.30 unless I have no option to order, with a SWR. Thanks for the find.

Thanks to all who are posting on this thread. I traded a 2001 F-250 SB CC XLT 5.4L in 2 years ago on a Dodge 1500 5.7 CC, and have regretted it ever since. The F-250 was just for groceries and doc's office and Momma's daily driver. It got 12 or so around town and 15 on the road, always driven geezerly by me or Momma... never over 65MPH. My other truck is 2001 F-350 CC Lariat DRW LWB 7.3L (198K miles) used to haul an RV. I recently downsized from 12000# 5'ver to 7500# travel trailer and am considering a 2015 F-250 CC SWB XLT 6.2L truck. I'm pleased to see that the 6.2L has handled a 10K 5'ver in some hills. Thanks to Iggy from AZ for the info. I'm still on the fence about letting go of my old 7.3, still smarting from my move to Mopar and ensuing disappointment.

But thanks to all for the info.
