Forgot to post this here. It's a simple video of the truck working hard and doing its job:
Ok... My 08 450 pulls twice that weight on goosenecks on the dirt roads we have around here, day in and day out. (now, granted, it's a 450, but still).
Don't mean to sound like I'm knocking the video, but... so what? It's a pick-up truck. It's designed to pull stuff.
I don't know if it's just the slope of the hill or what, but looks like you're sagging a bit there. Time for some air bags, if it's not the hill.
Firestone airbags with Air Lift wireless on-board air. The front end is leveled up two inches. Is the rear suspension stock? Or, have you modified it---if so with what?
Thanks
It doesn't look cool to you because you have a 450 and pull a gooseneck twice as heavy day in and day out. lol... For those of us who don't pull heavy like that are more easily impressed
Nothing is hard to get through if you get a good enough of a head start. :lol:The video doesn't do it justice really. The hill is much steeper and the sand is much deeper than it looks. Trucks get stuck and need help in this area all the time. Cut a guy a break man, it's uphill and hard to get through on the first try. lol
No problem, I didn't take your comment defensively. I usually post with a heavy measure of sarcasm and it doesn't always come through clearly. I get your perspective since you do this all the time. And, for the record, it's ok to knock my videos. This one in particular is very blase (how did you do that special character?) and simply some camera video stitched together. Now, maybe I'm just a little blasé about your video since I do this kind of stuff all the time, but dry hilly dirt roads... Lord, I wish that's all I had to pull a trailer through. Unfortunately, snow, mud (now that spring is here), extremely ridiculous grades... That's what I usually deal with.
Again, I wasn't knocking the video. Well, wasn't trying to. But I've never been known for being subtle. From my perspective, it was one of those "Ok. So?" kind of things.

é - And there you have it! Thanks.Fair enough.
Next time I'm in SLC, maybe we'll run into each other... figuratively speaking.
As far as the character... I'm on Os X. Os X is smart, it knows what I mean.
But if you're on Winders, then hold down the ALT key and type the corresponding ASCII control number.

Yes, I got it all sorted. Enjoy the British flair, btw...Cool! That's a toy hauler, correct? I read one of your threads about you being concerned whether you could pull it or not. Clearly, you got it sorted. I am thinking if I end up with a 5'er that big, I'll get the air bags or the Timbrens as well. Still not sure if I want to level the truck or not because then I may not need the air bags or Timberns to ride level though. Any thoughts on that?
There are two different applications for our trucks. One that sits on top of the spring and one that sits on top of the axle. I'd check part numbers between the different applications or make a call to customer service and ask them. Not to derail this but on the subject of airbags, would a set of Firestone air bags from a 2008 F 250 fit on the 2011 F250 (brand new never installed them)?
Technically, the trailer is a bit longer. It's called a 38 footer but it measures 39 feet inside and 39' 11" outside. So yeah, it's really a 40 footer. The truck handles it extremely well. I added airbags and monitor tire pressures and temps in real time. The weakest link in the whole system right now is the rear axle and rear tires.Off subject, I don't believe they will fit Scorpio but it also depends on wether you have an in bed hitch installed or not.
On subject, I like seeing pretty much any videos of Powerstrokes working. The trailer sure looks longer than 38ft though.
Lol, that's the first time anyone has said one of these trucks looks stupid when it's doing it's thing. I guess you could add two more wheels to the back but not sure it would have much of a visual effect. Big truck, big trailer. A thing of beauty to meMan that truck looks stupid small compared to the 5th wheel it's hauling. :freak5:
Right. I guess I've been overly defensive lately.I don't think he was dissing your truck. I think he was complimenting your trailer!![]()
