I would like to know if anyone knows how hard it would be to swap a 6.9 in place of a 6.2 useing the SM465 4 speed trany. this is in a 82 C-30.the 6.2 was used and abused when I swaped it in place of the original 350 gaser and I manly did it to get the truck set up for diesel, and although the engine has been dependable it is getting to the point it need to be replast. I was looking at options and saw that the 6.9 produses about twice what the 6.2 does right off the bat in the way of TQ and that with a turbo will put me about where I want to be in the power range. I have a good clean truck so I would rather do an engine swap and any info would be apreceated thanks

I would realy like to keep the manual in her. Is there any place that builds adaptor for this kind of thing. the next thing I want to do is put 4X4 under it this is why I need to keep the SM465 in it so that part of the set up will be more of a stock bolt on less fabing if you know what I mean

T19's can be had real cheap from time to time, and they are supposedly a very tough manual. No overdrive though. The only bad thing is the shipping costs are high as they are heavy. I believe if you dig around you can find somebody who'll build an adapter. Cool idea for a swap I'd like to do the same thing witha Suburban someday....
