i have a 7.3 idi will the older 6.9 idi CrackShaft work in my engine.

need help i can find 6.9 truck ever where in my area. for 300 $
but the only 7.3 is like 3000$ please help

As far as I know, yes. Everything should be exactly the same. I've never had a 6.9 apart next to a 7.3 though.

Everything in the 6.9 and 7.3 motors are the same. The crank, rods and cams are all the same. The part numbers are the same in the 6.9 and 7.3. The one and only internal thing that is differant is the early 6.9 piston oil squirters. They were pressed in and not bolted in. They also require a special alignment plate that is no longer made so be careful when buying an early 6.9 block

the pistons are larger by .011 too
