Guys,

Been awhile since I have posted anything on the forum, seems the X has been chugging along with no problems!

Until this week! Seems the better half was changing out disk in the CD player and one has gotten hung. I can see it in the open window, but can not seem to get it out. Any hints??? Problem is that since I have a "disk error" the unit will not let me select the DVD mode for the back.

We are headed for a long road trip to Canada next Monday from Georgia with the two year old to visit grandparents, I'm in need of HELP!!!!

If the player is toast, does anyone who has upgraded have a unit that is available before I start to call the salvage yards?

Thanks,

Gary

Not sure how to get it unstuck, but check the Classified forum at the bottom. There's always a lot of OEM head units, but usually from the trucks.

I slide the blade of my pocket knife under the CD while trying to eject it, and that usually does the trick.

This has happened to me a few times. I usually take another CD and kind of jam it in and out. Usually I can get it unhung that way. I have done this while heading down the highway. Basically I am doing the same thing that ScaldedDog is saying but I'm using a CD. Just try and push it in and get under it. I think a CD is better than a knife cause of the wider edge.

I think the changer is putting pressure on it outward and it is hung. So you need to push it in and then let is come out.

Good luck!!

I had this and fixed it by unloading all of them but if this is blocking the door you may have to do this: Take the claw end of a hammer and swing it as hard as you can, hitting the opening, and it will make a big hole to slide the disc out of. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
