If your wanting the turbo, take everything attached to the engine up to and including the downpipe from the turbo and the air box.

first we should know what ATS kit it is.

I don't know what ATS kit it is.Im in the process of trying to get this truck for a good price for parts.I'm planning to swap the turbo motor into my current ride. And just incase the exhaust stuff is not there. What is the different with a wastegate or non waste gate.

one of the kits has a reverse turbo hat than the 093.
ive only ran the 093's so i am not a good judge.

re-read the post above, i added a video

7.3 with turbo into a non turbo truck.

Can't say I've ever heard of this "reverse" hat. Any link/pics?

Wastegated vs. non wastegated:

Wastegated turbo will achieve maximum boost earlier in the RPM curve and at a faster rate. The "gate" will bleed off excess boost.

Non wastegated turbo achieves maximum boost at maximum load and RPM. Since there isn't a gate to bleed off boost it doesn't reach max except under max conditions.

Which is better? I don't have any data to say either way, but I like my wastegated turbo.

Wastegate is best by far IMO. The advantage is really magnified when driving truck. With the old non-wastegated Cummins 335's the power only came on from 1900 to the governed 2200RPM. Two of the last trucks I drove had basically the same engine but with wastegated turbo's. Pulling 80,000 lbs. gross wt, those engines pulled the same right from 1200 to 2200---big difference. In other words, max pulling power is extended over a much wider RPM range if wastegated.
