Hey guys i have an early 99 7.3. And I'm pretty sure I have a bad piston ring on cylinder #5. And my torque converter just took off on me. I have a got deal on a 2000 e250... I'm just curious if it's worth it to pull motor and trans out of an e250 to throw into my f350? How hard is it? What tools are needed? Etc. Please let me know! I'm not afraid to pull it. Just don't want to open a big can of worms that could have been avoided...

I think the hardest part is going to be getting the engine out of the van. I believe you need to pull the body off. If you got a smokin deal on the van, then it would be worth it. You can probably pick up just a used 7.3L that a yard has already pulled for around $3K.
