Hey guys...
I'm leaving over seas for a indefinate amount of time.. (min 3 months) and i have to leave my girl behind.. (both of them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I need some tips on how to leave my truck parked...
some say drain all the fluids, some say change them all..
batteries in? batts out? have someone come by to start it?

I have never left a Vehicle un-attended for so long.
HELP!

I'd have some one come by and start it once a week and move it a bit as not to ruin your tires. I think that should do it. Make sure it runs long enough to give the batteries a little charge. Tim

I leave my truck parked anywhere from a few weeks to 10 months at a time. I usually just have the wife or a friend start it and drive it every other month or so. I did leave it sitting unattended once for 10 months, and to my surprise, I let the glowplugs cycle once, hit the key and it cranked for about 10-15 seconds and fired right off. Moral of the story, if you cannot have anyone take care of it, just disconnect your batteries and make sure all your fluids are topped off and you will be fine. Scotty

I would change the oil, disconnect the batts, air the tires up to the max, fill the tanks, add the winter powerservice (kills bio growth) and leave it. I'm not convinced that starting it up does more good than harm. Its importaint to leave the tanks full as this will prevent condensation in the tanks which will leave you with water in the fuel and can cause rusted fuel pick ups.

Either way it should be just fine.
