Started engine after about 6-7 weeks of not running. Started right up and sounded good. Then I noticed a wet spot and a leak dripping on the ground off of the rear of the right exhaust manifold. The leak is weeping out between the head and the exhaust manifild at the #7 port.

The liquid felt like diesel fuel and felt slippery like diesel fuel.

Only three things changed from last engine start to this start
1. Changed the oil
2. Replaced block heater.
3. Added fuel stabilizer. Tank of fuel has sat for 8 months.

This morning i started the truck wth the injector vc connector for #5 & 7 disconnected. The weeping fuel stopped. After 10 minutes I stopped the engine, reconnected the #5+7 injector harness VC connector and started the engine. It started right up and within 15 seconds the weeping liguid at the #7 port returned.

My guess would be that you have an injector problem. You could try and swap the #7 injector with one of the others and see if the problem follows the injector or stays put. Or, if it were me and my truck I would pull the #7 injector and take it in to a shop that can test teh injectors out of vehicle and see how it tests out and replace it if need be.

Sending #7 to Rosewood Diesel Shop

Doing just that. Pulled VC this afternoon and will pull #7 tomorrow and send it in.

Depending on the verdict I'll decide what to do about the other 7. Most likely I'll replace all 8 because with an engine this clean (scrubbed everything ncluding the valley, and 250K miles, it just too pretty to not drive it and enjoy the smell of that deisel exhaust.

Anyone else ever have fuel leaking into the exhaust manifold at a single port?
