Do I need to modify the driveshafts or replace the driveshafts with this lift. I am not going any higher yet (shackles) for a while. I am just going to stick with the 8" DR lift with 38's.
Your front driveshaft will have to be lengthened or if you are going to be doing some serious off-roading you can go with a long slip front driveshaft. The rear is long enough but most will have a bit of take-off-vibration. That is fixed with a new driveline from www.highangledriveline.com
We highly recommend a long slip front drive shaft with the 8" DR kit. The stock shaft only has a 3" slip joint which is marginal for the amount of suspension travel offered by the 8" Deaver springs. By simply lengthening the stock shaft you run the risk of either pulling the shaft apart or bottoming the shaft which can damage your transfer case or transmission tail housing.
Don't let this happen to you! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
