Good evening folks, New to the dieselstop as a poster. Just picked up a 94 7.3 Turbo, IDI, 5 spd, 4X4, With 231,000km, (about 140 miles). I was wondering if there are any upgrades for power &/or fuel economy that the group would recommend. Also are there any weaknesses that I should know about or address.Thx much .

Welcome EH!...... Good working injectors and Injection pumps should get you all the power you need. These engines are work horses not race horses unfortunately....... Fuel economy will be a result of how you drive and/or what you pull/carry. With the turbo you already have the major power upgrade, a propane system would be the next step, check out Powershot 2000..... Where you located on the flat province.

Howdy fellow Canuck, Regina is the city lights that I view @ night. I done some work on GM 6.5L, & spend some time on Toyota diesel.com. I have 3 Toyota diesels, & needed a tow rig for wheeling trips to the USA. So after some research , the mechanical IP pump, factory turbo & 5 spd 1994 3/4 , 4X4 became an obvious choice. The GM projects included stuffing a 6.5L into a 77 Toyota FJ45 (Land Cruiser pickup), a couple of R&R on tow truck & flat deck delivery truck, the latest sorry sight to come by is a 96 H1 Hummer with bad heads, severe exhaust & oil leaks. Well got to go, Post @ U later. P.S. I'm on dialup, farmer, smoke signals, so some times it takes a while to get to reply.
