I’ve been thinking about doing glow plugs on my truck and watched some videos of people doing them and I noticed they are not under the valve cover like my old truck ( 00 7.3L ) I found the plug for Cyl. 2 I believe (driver side of engine right behind vacuum pump) and went to remove the wire attached to it and it fell apart in my hand, so when I do plugs I’m going to change out the wiring for them as well, but my question is can I just splice the wire and crimp on a new one or will I have to replace the engine harness? Or something

Are you talking about the plastic covering on the wire connectors? Due to heat and age my disintegrated years ago. I don't consider it a problem because something metallic would have to come in contact with them and the engine while they were energized. Not much chance of that happening.
