After my truck sets for awhile 4-5 hours, when it's restarted it start good but about 4-5 minutes it starts missing and blue smoke out the exhaust. It will do this for about 3 minutes. It is a 95 f250 7.3, has about 280.000 miles injector seals,ICP sensor changed .after that spell it runs good and pulls good, any ideas thanks. I like to try and do my own work not too many shop's here that I trust. I am just south of Dallas

Hi, welcome to the forum, there is a high idle feature that kicks in when it's cold out. It closes the outlet of the turbo's exhaust and raises the idle. This brings the engine up to temp quicker and helps eliminate condensation and acid build up inside of engine when idling for long periods when cold.
It should release when you step on the brake pedal.

Nick, it all depends on the year of his truck. My 96 has no high idle except for the broom handle on the go pedal.

I think nick is right. It shouldn't be cycling in and off though. It should stay engaged.

This is the 99-03 soho wouldn't think it's an obs

This thread started out in the News, Comments, Site Help and Suggestions forum before they moved it here.

We still don't know just what year of truck it is since the OP never stated what year. http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/f10/

The 7.3 that is revving up is a 95 with 279.000 miles. Have changed the oil, filters, ICP sensor, going to change the seals on the injectors tomorrow. Also the exhaust back pressure valve is open, any ideas welcomed
