So here's the short and sweet,

I got a 1997 F350 7.3 Manual recently. I have had a 1995 F250 7.3 Auto for a few years now.

Guy that i picked up the 97 from said it should be a ECM issue. Just quit working one day. Have not had time to diagnose properly but the question is can I swap over the ECM and the IDM from my 95 to the 97??

Thought process is to swap all my goodies over to the 97 that will fit from the 95. single cab to a quad cab ya know.

If i can't, where can i find one that is reasonably priced and going to work?

Thanks for the help guys.

A manual PCM won't work in an Auto truck. The engine might run, but the tranny wouldn't work right.
But the IDM's are the same.

Try RockAuto for a PCM for the 97 (or other parts places. See if you can see what family of PCM it is. It should be a DPC-203 for a federal manual truck. Hopefully it is not a DPC-311 PCM as that would be for a California Manual truck and they are wired totally different than the DPC-203 (and are very hard to find). Cheers!
