I have a buddy with a 96 f250 7.3l auto and the computer set a code for the tps. Not sure what the code number is. Trying to find the location of the sensor. Was told by napa that it is somewhere in the vicinity of the ac compressor and was given an illustration showing about where it is. We can not find it anywhere. Is it hidden or is it on the gas pedal under the dash. From what I have seen it bolts down with two bolts and is a three pin connector. By chance it is on the pedal I am told you have to buy the whole pedal assembly to get the sensor. Is this correct or is that a different sensor. Can someone please help us out here.

Ordered sensor through napa today. Hopefully it is the right one for the pedal. Why doesn't Ford sell these sensors separate instead of having to buy the whole assembly.

He only paid like $52 for the sensor and so far no problems. He was having a problem with it shifting all the way into overdrive at 20mph. Most of the time it would shift realfast and fairly soft. But every once in a while it would shift so hard you would swear that it was going to explode the transmission. If this sensor is what I am thinking it is then it is from Napa, Echlin line part# crb229331 NAPA PROLink
