i've seen it asked before, and searched a year back, but never saw a definite answer. will the cam sensor with a 7 in the part number, made for the '97 and up, work in a '96? There are many more listed on ebay and a little cheaper.

Yes it will work... the only difference is the material the contacts are made of.

I've had a '97 model year CPS (gold contacts) in my '96 Power Stroke for at least the last three years. No worries. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
