So I just bought my truck recently, it's f250 with 7.3L. I rebuilt the front end stuff already, I was going to order rear brake shoes for the truck but there is a choice 2.5" and 3" I'm not sure how to find out without opening up drum which I'd rather not do until I have parts to replace.
Anyone have any ideas on how to tell which I have?

As a fyi for you, there were two F250's manufactured in 97. A light duty and a heavy duty one that had the 7.3 in it.

For ordering most parts if you just say that your truck is a 96 you will get the correct part.

Your brake shoes will be 3"

I've had a nightmare of a time with parts because of the 2 models. Started using Rockauto over ebay/amazon as everything I've gotten from the others was the wrong thing. Thanks for the tip
