driving in pouring down rain and my truck just losing power and it died. I just had a water in fuel issue and had changed fliter and dumped bowl prob 50 miles before this happened. I checked fuses and relays on the side of the road and all were good. never had a check engine light. tach was always working when trying to crank. i changed the cam pos sensor. still no luck at recranking. i do have a mt 2500 snapon to diagnose with but i don't know all that much about working system. after looking at codes it said cam pos intermittent . i rechanged it and it still says that code but i read with continuous turning of the motor with no start will cause this. i have hooked the snapon 2500 to a running truck and compared the keyon readings. unless i missed something everything looked the same. what i have noticed is that while cranking, i notice my icp going to around 2400 psi while cranking? i have made the truck run by giving it a small shot of starting fluid. i pullied the ipr out thinking it had failed stuck closed. no evidence of that. put voltage to solenoid and it magnetized a bolt as well in it. any help would be appreciated

You only need 500 psi on the icp to get the injectors fired. You can try unplugging the icp and try to start.

Do you have a tach? If yes look if rpm is moving?

CPS code still there? Did you clear the code? I heard its not rare to get a faulty cps out of the box. Best thing is try to swap it whit a known good one.

It might be the wiring of the CPS

changed new bwd and put new ford cps in. tach has always worked with both cps and the one that was in it when truck died. tried unplugging icp sensor but it still won't start. my thinking if tach is working wiring isn't an issue? codes are clear now.

What's the fuel pressure while cranking? Minimum is 25 psi at a minimum crank speed of 100 rpm. Cheers!
