About two months ago I went out to start my truck, I got a chattering noise out of one of the relays and the glow plug light flickered matching it, wouldn't start. Went out a week later, no chattering but still no start. Part of the problem was the cold. Charged the batteries so that wasn't an issue after cranking I read oil pressure, cracked the water valve and got good fuel flow, ran the self diagnostic test and got p0470 exh back pressure, p0475 Exh pressure control valve, and the big one p0605 PCM ROM test fail. Is there anything more I need to test before I buy a new one?

Thanks,

Tim

Pulled my PCM today, it's DPC-202, I also have a TorQ Line power chip #TCP9703, the question I have is, might the chip cause the error code, can I just remove it and the PCM might work?

Thanks,

Tim...Normally you can pull the chip and not affect the PCM. It is my understanding a chip overrides some of the PCM programing. I would disconnect your batteries and then pull the chip. I am not 100% sure about this...so maybe someone else with more knowledge about chips will help you.

I had unhooked the batteries first thing. But the good news is I took it all apart took the chip off Cleaned all of the connections with contact cleaner, put it all back together and it started right up. I don't know how often this happens, but I had some electronic equipment that would stop working sometimes. All we had to do reseat the circuit boards and everything would work again for a couple of years.

Thanks,

Tim

You may of had a loose chip witch can be quite dangerous to the PCM. If you are driving down the road and hit a bump and it becomes disconnected you just may fry the PCM. A piece of duct tape across it will help prevent it from dislodging.
