The conversion of my 99 7.3 f-350 into a 99 6.0 f-350 is complete. On the 1-10 mechanic scale I would give it a 7. Possible by the average mechanic with avarage tools and equipment. Mechanically simple (3), electrically advanced (9.5). Not something everyone should try but is possible.

The only negative of the transformation (maybe) is the off the line power delivery on the 6.0 is a little weaker than the 7.3 w/ dp tuner econo tune. The torqueshift tranny is AWESOME!! The power steering pump is incredible (i can turn the wheels at a stand still). The turbo "noise" makes everyone turn their head to make sure a jet is not landing on them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif double thumb up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If anyone is considering this conversion I can give you the info needed to complete the project. I converted for roughly $5000. Thats having everything needed motor/tranny/t-case and electrical components shipped to my door. I have a 99.5 7.3 w/ 4r100 and transfer case sitting on the garage floor waiting to re-coupe some of that cost.

Hope you have better luck with that 6.0 than all the ones I have to fix all the dang time. Kudos on the swap.

I can see wanting the torque shift tranny but why would you want the 6.0????
Is this the only way to get that tranny?
It would be cool if they made an adaptor so we could run the newer tranny, as I have heard good things about it on the RV forum /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
