I've got a 99 F-350 and I have an annoying warning sound coming from the dash . It sounds like when you would leave the lights on with your ignition off, but it happens when driving the truck around town. It will chime on at any given time and then It happens every 1/2 hr or so. It doesn't turn any warning lights on the dash, so I don't know what's going on. My drivers side air bag is not there because of an aftermarket steering wheel, could that be the problem? When I bought the truck it had the airbag light on, and then I changed the dash face to one of those white-face stick on and put the dash back. I've never seen the light again, even though there's still no bag. I'm not sure what the sound is, but it's really annoying. The only other thing I've chaged is to a newer PCM with the Jody tuneup. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I know this sounds dumb but did you check the emergency brake. I had mine just barely pressed in (could not feel it in the truck) and it did the same thing.

Does the SRS (air bag) light "prove out" when the key is turned on??? Does the ABS light "prove out"?

If these lights fail, the related modules can't turn on the light to warn you... therefore, a warning chime will sound.

Yes... the SRS (airbag) light is "one of these lights".... Since the light doesn't work, it can't turn on to tell you it doesn't work....
