I searched for about an hour and couldn't find a post that showed how to adjust the shims on the ac compressor. Can anyone tell me the procedure? Thanks in advance for your help.

IF you remove the bolt on the compressor driven plate and then pull off the plate, you will find shims there. The driven plate may slide off easily but could also require a puller if it has rusted.
The gap btween drive and driven should be 0.040 inch +/- 0.010 inch.

if it doesn't slide off easily, before you worry about puller, use two blade screwdrivers and pry gently. The driven plate is not that sturdy so do not get rough prying or it will bend and you'll get other problems. Many times a little easy prying pops it right off.
