Help me out on this one. Whenever I start my A/C, it will run for 30-45 seconds and suddenly pour smoke out the vents, Heat up like crazy, and emit a VERY loud squealing from the compressor. With the hood open, i watched the compressor myself. The clutch is turning fine and the belt is not slipping whenever this occurs. Any ideas ? Bad compressor ?

What heats up like crazy? The air coming out of the vents? What does the smoke smell like?

The only two things that I can imagine coming out of the vents would be condensate from dropping the air temperature below the dew point, or freon from a leak in your evaporator core. You wouldn't expect the second to happen for long as you would fairly quickly discharge your system. The squealing compressor is odd as well. Do you have any way to put gauges on it? Could be an obstruction. Either way, the compressor should shut down if the pressures go too low or too high.

That would make a lot more sense - is the air still blowing just as strong when it heats up and squeels?

Sounds like the only way to know for sure is to put some gauges on it and watch what's happening. When its making noise, are you sure the inner part of the clutch is turning at the same speed as the pulley?
