My ABS light is flashing and it will not go into gear. It is stuck in Park. I reset the computer and the ABS light was not flashing till I pushed the brake to put it in gear. Is there some kind of interlock on the ABS system that will keep you from putting it in gear? Thanks for any help, Danny

you can defeat the shift interlock by turnign the key to teh first position and then shift into neutral and then start it, you will not have brake lights, though. I have teh same problem and can not find it, so if you do , post it please.

I had this problem a couple of years ago with my 97 F-350 CC 4x4. Kept blowing the fuse (#13 under dash is my recollection) and did not matter if it was with a trailer hooked up or not. Went through about 10 fuses a month and could not find the problem. Then I noticed that I kept blowing the fuse in the engine compartment for left turn signal on the trailer whenever I had the trailer hooked up. I went through the trailer and traced every wire, but could not find the problem, but noticed that the light on the after market brake controller pulsed on when left turn signal would work on the trailer without blowing the fuse. Finally, I found my old electronic trailer brake controller from my previous truck and took out the existing brake controller and put in the spare one. That seemed to fix the problem as I have not had the ABS problem for 2 years now and the trailer lights and brakes all work properly. The brake controller must have been fried is all I can figger. Electrical shorts are alot of fun.

wow,

had the same problem last month while I was picking up a car out of town, it was the trailer I used had 1 wire that was grounding out and it popped the fuse under the dash, scared me real bad when the truck wouldnt shift outta park...I thought I was stranded in a little podunk town that didnt even have an autozone........unplugged the trailer for the rest of the trip and never had the problem again........dont know if this helps, but it was the trailer that got me......
