for the last week I have had issue with the ABS light coming on...no codes were stored from computer check ...would go off after restart and 5 min later would come on again...

from searching several other sites, I replaced the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which is located on the top of the rear differential...and today after 7 hrs of running around SC and NC it has stayed off...

one bolt on top of r/axle housing...21 bucks at the stealership...probably the cheapest sensor they have...

and I can't say for sure but it seems like my milage inscreaed marginally along with a butt dyno feeling that I have a lot stronger off the line ...fwiw...

btw by the time I found out how and searched the archives here, I found several answers from other sites...bd

I should probably replace mine. The ABS light comes on now and again, the the speedo needle is kind of jumpy at highway speeds. I already pulled out my sensor and cleaned it with no changes.

Mine's been doing the same thing right after I bought it new. Never paid much attention and never really research the cause. Now I can try and do the same thing as you. Thanks for the info.

When I took mine off it seemed to be magnatized and there where fine particles of metal in heavy grease stuck on it. You might try cleaning it before buying a replacement.
