Would would make the ABS light come on sometimes and off others. Here is what it is doing. Sometimes when I start the truck the light comes on and stays on. Other times it comes on when I start the truck then goes off. It never comes on after I am running just when I start. Where do I start to fix the problem.

There is a little square grey connector with one lead off behind the right hand lower corner of the dashboard, if you look up from the very back of the passenger footwell (have fun!) you should be able to see it way over there by the kick panel. Ground this lead briefly when the ABS light is on without the BRAKE light and the ABS light will flash the codes.

I don't have 'em handy, so if you get codes, come back with the codes. I believe they're long and short, but they could just be flashes for tens, short pause, flashes for ones, long pause, next code.

took me quite a while to find it from the description in the book, mine is much better, for what it's worth :D

for what it's worth, pop the connector off the rear differential, clean it and the contacts, plug it back in. That seems to be my problem 90% of the time. I have to clean mine once every six months or so. Gets a lot of water, dirt, etc in it.
