On my gas truck about 3-4 years ago I acetoned the F250HD badges and they look great. I tried this weekend on my PSD and !)@#ed them up, im pretty pissed cause the cheapest ive found are around $30 and the thing that angers me the most is Ive done em before for some reason it didnt work this time.
Anyways anyone know where to get F250HD badges cheap, and any tips on acetoning the badges?

I heard about this so figured I would. My buddy gave me a pair of F350 badges off a 96' (so same type) and acetoned them like I should have let it sit forever and when I took the toothbrush to em all it did was NOTHING, I was pissed went threw all that time for a pan of used acetone. Once dried it just faded the paint, but never came off, so said screw it I am not going to use my good ones on my truck.

Check out my signature for the best badges I've seen. This is not my company but a friends site. Great quality / Customer service / selection.

I've never seen anybody successfully acetone OBS badges. There has to be a way but you'd likely have to take them off the truck first and that's a lot of work.

Again, check the signature. 2005 badges look better. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Alot of guys just use the website www.webshots.com, I do anyways and once you D/L the pics off your dig. camera onto you computer you simply upload them to the FREE webshots page and then you can just reference pictures for example.....

I checked your friends site and it looks nice but for under $40 a badge you can have brand new one piece billet aluminum badges at www.billetbadges.com and that replaces the cheap plastic factory badges how much is your friend charging per badge? I couldn't find pricing on the site.

Acetone + plastic = melted plastic. If there is metal under the plastic you can use a paint stripper to get the plastic off then use a good quality polish like FLITZ Metal polish to keep the shine. If not metal under the plastic you are SOL.

Good Luck

Really? The prices are all listed next to the image of the emblem. I just checked there myself and they are between $24 and $26 each.

The cool thing about them is that you can get any combo of acetoning already done. Check out the pics on my signature. Personaly the billet ones are cool just because they are billet, but I really like the looks of the 05 badges on my truck better than any billet badge I've seen. Plus you CAN"T BEAT that international emblem. I get so many people asking me about them. The 05 badges look stock and match the truck better than the OEM ones did.
