Adding a volt meter... looking for some suggestions...

I want to add a voltmeter to truck. Seems funny there is not one from the factory but that just gives me a chance to add some stuff.. so.. any suggestions as to where and what cable i should hook into? I was going to get a new 4 pod piller mount for it... has anyone done this already?

my stereo has one and you can press the charge protect button on an aic to have to flash the voltage.
