Adding a volt meter... looking for some suggestions...

I want to add a voltmeter to truck. Seems funny there is not one from the factory but that just gives me a chance to add some stuff.. so.. any suggestions as to where and what cable i should hook into? I was going to get a new 4 pod piller mount for it... has anyone done this already?

I have a radar detector just like this one. It will display voltage in a red LED digital format. It works very, very well and was named the best radar detector under $300 by either motor trend or consumer reports. Can't remember. It has saved me several times though.
