Has anybody else run into this?

Purchased the coolant filter kit and AFE 2 intake kit but they don't compliment each other; before I go drilling into the airbox what has everyone else done to combat this problem?

Thanks as always.

The Coolant filter can be mounted almost anywhere, where the intake is not as easily rerouted. You can mount the filter behind the front bumper, in the front of the wheel well if you install 2 shutoff valves on the filter housing. Many different locations shown with pictures on this site. Good Luck!

I didn't like the idea of mounting the filter off the airbox and mounted mine behind the drivers front wheel. There is a pocket formed there just behind the wheel well that provides awesome protection. I used two heavy duty gas ball valves, which make changing filters a breeze. You can mount the filter anywhere.

i mounted my coolant filter on the outside frame rail under the drivers feet........very easily run and easily changed the existing holes in the frame matched up nicely to my filter housing so it was a no brainer for me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have both the AFE II and the coolant filter and mounted it exactly where Bob said it would fit, just between the air box and the reservoir. The holes for the colant bracket match the radiator bracket and the new threads fit just right. Works fine.

Ok...well perhaps I should have said they don't work together without a little ingenuity and modification; like most things on this truck!
