I am just looking for opinions about the AFE 4" turbo back exhaust.

Is it worth the cost?

Is it really beneficial?

Did you gain towing capacity?

Did you gain MPG?

Would you do it again?

Not sure you can get a 4" on an OBS truck. Takes a fair bit of work to put a 3" on. The firewall pinch weld needs a pretty good massage to get clearance. Don' think you see any performance gain, but it's a supporting mod. Turbo, injectors, fuel, etc all need big air and big exhaust.

I would agree, down pipe is the big restriction. I think the most you will see is improvement in EGT, which may help you pull a little harder if you have to back out of the power with your current system. No mpg gain, The cost is not an issue because spending a day on your back with rust/dirt/mud in your eyes is priceless.

Most 4" kits for the OBS trucks come with a 3" downpipe. It would take an awful lot of work to be able to squeeze a 4" downpipe in there.

The biggest benefit, as stated, is the downpipe improvement. The stock one is smashed flat.

Your power and mileage may improve just a tad, but it will likely be nothing to write home about.

Thank you all for your information, I really appreciate your responses. Given those responses, I will probably work on replacing the down pipe and then go from there.

Thanks all.

You really can't tow more if you want to get into the legal swamp of GVWR vs tagged weight. You CAN tow faster (or at least get to the speed limit faster) with it and several hundred dollars more in aftermarket go-fast parts.
