Hey Ya'll,
I was wondering if any ya'll had used or heard reviews of the AFE Large Bore Exhaust kit. It's running for $383 on autoanything and I've been looking to upgrade my exhaust. It's 4", turbo back piping with their muffler. I know that piping is piping, but mufflers can be very different it tone, flow, etc. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the advise. I've heard that 5" exhaust is only for HP levels over 400; below that and you will lose power at lower RPM, which is where I drive.

Right now I have the AEM intake with a ram-air hood, and I plan on purchasing the Edge Evolution for my rig. This combo with an exhaust would only put me at around 350HP. Do you think that's a problem?

Probably not, you should love your tuner on it, and I would think that you will do other stuff another time. If you romp on it, (and I think you probably will), you won't notice the difference between the two different diameter exhausts. I ran the 5" on my other truck with a hypertech programmer only, and it moved out. My friend had a 4" at the time with the same tuner, and mine was faster and sounded WAY better.

For those that run the 5" Summit, how did the move from stock-5" or 4"-5" effect EGTs? Also how is the fit and finish? I have heard mixed results on fit and finish. I have been looking at the 5" for added EGT drops when towing heavy.

I don't know how the summit or Jeg's system fits. I was working at Midas at the time I put mine on. It is an IMCO system with a Donaldson muffler with the baffle knocked out. I think it fits better than most 4" systems, and is quieter than the stock pipe without the muffler. It doesn't have the "bark" of the smaller pipe, only a clean and deep note. As far as the EGT's with the larger system, I put the gauges on at the same time as the chip, inj's, and turbo, so I don't know how your truck will read. It will be cooler though. Usually you will get a 4" dp that the mid section goes to 5" and then the rest of the midsection from the passenger's feet the rest of the way back is 5".

Hope that helps.

I just purchased th jegs 5" kit, so we will see. I am excited to see that monster pipe. The package weighs 91lbs and the whole thing cost $420. Now I just hope it performs and sounds as good as the deal was I got. But based off of all ya'lls reviews, that doesn't seem to be a problem.

After looking at both I have to wonder if the Jeg's and Summit exhaust systems are made by the same company. Anyone know?
